Julie Morris Memorial Benefit Brunch 2025
Sunday, May 18, 2025 — 10-11:30 a.m.
Hemmingson Center Ballroom, Gonzaga University
702 E Desmet Ave, Spokane, WA 99202
Suggested donation: $80/person
(or $40/person for lower income)

Faith Hayflich and Marti Martin will receive the Julie Morris Outstanding Service Award.
This year’s Julie Morris Memorial Benefit Brunch will support the compassionate, effective service that Spokane Area Jewish Family Services delivers to individuals and families in need. Local seniors experience vital socialization at our monthly JFS Luncheons. Seniors and clients with disabilities use our transportation assistance program to get rides to medical appointments. Low-income households breathe a sigh of relief upon receiving rent or utility assistance. Members of our peer-led caregivers support group share the joys and help each other through the challenges of providing care to a loved one. SAJFS helps people of diverse backgrounds based on Jewish values: the inherent worth of every person, the practice of treating others with kindness, and the importance of connection to community.
We’re grateful to partner with you in meeting fundamental human needs with dignity and offering vibrant, meaningful cultural programs. Here’s just some of what SAJFS achieved in 2024 thanks to donor support:
- more than 3,000 incidents of service to seniors, low-income households, and clients with disabilities
- nearly 500 unique households served
- a Jewish film festival that attracted more than 500 people
- JFS Luncheons that more than 330 people attended
- the delivery of more than 1,500 Jewish children’s books from PJ Library to families raising kids Jewish
We couldn’t do any of this crucial work without your contributions.
We know you believe in our mission of service and our commitment to helping people help themselves. Please join us at Gonzaga University’s Hemmingson Center Ballroom (702 E. Desmet Ave.) at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 18, for a Benefit Brunch to remember. We’ll honor Marti Martin and Faith Hayflich with the Julie Morris Outstanding Service Award; the event will also feature a musical performance by a Lilac City Voices barbershop quartet. You won’t want to miss it!
To learn more about the brunch, contact us at (509) 413-8254 or director@sajfs.org. To RSVP or become an event sponsor, fill out our online form, from which you can also donate securely. We can’t wait to see you!
